New Realizations

Hello darlings. This week and Tesh and I decided to bless six people. Wow! We started off by simply going out for dinner and giving our beautiful waitress a gift card along with a tip. What can we say... she deserved it! She was a cutie! ;) Then we headed over to the hottest place in town, Jonny's Java, to surprise one of the baristas with a $40 manicure. (this was not a hint that her nails were bad. haha) She had probably the sweetest reaction ever. Man, she's wonderful! Two people done, four to go! At Jonny's we bought some hot chocolates, 'cause you know... it's chilly outside. We brought those delicious hot chocolates to some very chilled people at the gas stations. This is where we began to realize somethings...
The whole point of blessing people was really just for fun. We wanted to show God's love but mostly, it was just because we love to love on people. When we were bringing hot chocolate to one of the guys at the gas station, we ended up knowing him. When we gave it to him, he right away asked, "Who made you do this? Do I have to pay you?" He was very skeptical to accept our gift. We tried to explain to him that this was a gift of love and we were just trying to keep him warm during his shift. We got into the car shortly after and immediately started praying. God really showed us that He is using us to show his love. Even though we are just doing little things once a week, people are being affected by it greatly. The crazy thing was, I really didn't want to go to this gas station but Tesh continually said that we should/needed to. It was as if God placed this guy in our way for us to show us His love.

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.
- John 13:34-35

Wow, we're already in 2013! This is just crazy! Tanisha and I have had the opportunity to bless a few people within 2012 but we only started to really get into in the last month. Somethings we were able to do were: create cookie mix jars for our youth leaders, write encouraging things all over our small group leader's mirror, pay for the people behind us in the Tim Hortens drive through, and write our waitress an encouraging note and leave her a large tip. We'll give show you pictures and go into more detail as soon as we can. God bless you. Keep sharing God's love. xoxo.
