Chalk and Chill

Hey Ya'll,
This is Teesh :D
So this week I glanced in the back of my car and noticed that there was some stuff brae and I bought for the 17 things which we had started a couple weeks ago.  So I decided to take some action and do some more blessing this week. Brae has been busy working so I decided to ramble up a friend of mine to help out!
We did two things. The first thing we did was we put some change in an envelope. And wrote on top "On us" "Love Tesh, Brae and my friend" We took this envelope to the new red box our town got which is right by walmart. The red box is like a vending machine for movies. So pretty much the money went toward someone renting a free movie or two.

The second thing we did was we brought a box of chalk to a local park. We placed it on the sidewalk and wrote in chalk "If you found this chalk you can keep it! God Bless, and have fun" Love Tesh and brae. The really cool thing is a couple days after, we went to check to see if someone had picked it up and someone had. And they even wrote back!!!!!! :D :D :D You could tell it was a kid who wrote it.. It said "Thank you very much" That reply just made me so happy!

sorry bad quality is was night time by the time we got here

In purple it says Thank You

17 Things

Okey Dokey!
So this week is super EXCITING for brae and I! First of all WE TURN 17!!! Brae on the 3rd and I on the 4th!
In celebration of us turning 17 we thought we would try and take this Tesh and Brae thing to a whole new level! We planned to do 17 different things to bless others!
As we started we realized this was an impossible goal, to do all in one day! So we decided to split it into two! We did most of them the other day, and plan to finish the rest within the next couple days! and will be posting more about how those go.. But for now I wanna tell you about the first 9 things.

NUMBA 1.  We handed out three Starbucks gift cards to people walking into the store.
This one was a lot of fun! The first two were hesitant and asked questions like "why".. But the third one was Absolutely THRILLED! She lit up in smiles and kept saying "thank you" and "you guys are awesome". She also gave us each a huge hug! This reaction was a reminder that little things do matter! They can change someones day completely around! So why not do it?

NUMBA 2.  Let someone go in front of us in a line
Something Simple but the lady REALLY appreciated it!

NUMBA 3.  Wrote Positive words on a change room mirror
Didn't get to see a reaction on this one, but we're hoping that seeing the words "You look Beautiful" made someone feel better about themselves, sometimes loving your body and the way you look is hard.

NUMBA 4.  Left 3 random encouraging notes on three different benches in the mall
Again didn't see reactions but hoping someone picked them up! And enjoyed are encouragement! They deserve it!

NUMBA 5.  Left a Present at a Random door
This one was kind of funny how it worked out! see.. we got lost trying to find a dollar store.. and ended up down a residential st. and decided thats where we gunna drop it off. I picked a parking spot by the only spot open.. and the house we landed in front of was the one we dropped off the present! The present contained candy, a note and a little trophy type thing that said "you are loved" Hoping they felt blessed and special as well!

NUMBA 6.  Left change in an envelope and left it at payphone saying "on us" "love tesh and brae"
Didn't see who used it but hoping someone was able to make a call without paying!

NUMBA 7. Handed out balloons at park
We had two balloons that said "you're special" and we handed them out to two families. The first family was a young couple. And the second was a family with three kids. We gave it to one of the kids.

NUMBA 8. We gave out two stuffed Animals (Webkinz) to two kids at the park.
These two kids were apart of the same family that we gave the balloon to. These kids had so much joy knowing these gifts were for them! They felt special and just seeing how happy it made them is why me and brae do tesh and brae day. The mom was taken away by the whole idea. She couldn't believe we did this.. just cause! She was telling her kids how awesome it was. And as we walked away I heard the kids say "what animal did you get" haha! Hope they enjoy and maybe in the future they will remember how awesome it was to receive a random act of kindness and will hopefully encourage them to do the same to someone else one day!

NUMBA 9. We brought the Winkler/Morden hospital a colouring book and markers for people waiting in the waiting room.
As you all know waiting for the doctor can be lonngggg wait. So we thought we would leave some stuff there for kids to enjoy. The front desk lady we talked to was thrilled! She thought it was a real nice gesture! YAY! Hopefully lots of people can be blessed by this one!

Thoughts

Hi everyone!
I know we haven't posted in a long time! It's summer and life does get busy! Me and Tesh spent 10 days in Jamaica this summer serving at YWAM Montego Bay with our youth group. It was definitely an emotional experience... Coming home from that has been quite difficult as well. We came home to hear of many accidents that happened while we were gone or happened around the time we got home. It's heartbreaking to hear of all the people that have passed away. There were a few of them that were our age. This makes me think of how things can change within a moment. They can change for the better or for the worse. With Tesh & Brae day, we can change things for the better! The amount of joy you can bring to someone through one little act of kindness is amazing! I've seen so many posts on facebook or people have come up to me telling me about notes they've gotten on their windshield or when they were given something for free just because! With all of the sad and evil things in this world, I find hope in the little things! I know that Tesh & Brae day isn't the cause of all of this. There is a lot more love in the world now! Me and Tesh just got a message from someone who had recently lost two loved ones. Even though she is grieving, she still wants to give us money to help others! What an inspiration!! You can do things for others even when you want to just give up. I don't know about you, but I wish there were more people like this in the world! Sometimes I try to imagine the world if everyone loved instead of hated, were thoughtful instead of thoughtless, selfless instead of selfish. This earth would be the most beautiful thing ever! So many days I wish and pray for the day when this would all change and the devil would just give up the fight! By doing Tesh & Brae day, even just once a week, we can start to change things! If two less people were hateful, thoughtless and selfish wouldn't life be that much better?? If we can change things by blessing people once a week, I never want to stop! I'm sure you will feel the same way if you start blessing people! This post may not make sense to you but it is what was on my heart! I just want to encourage you to start looking for ways to bless others! Lets change this world for good! <3
God bless!
-Brae

Wouldn't change a thing about a thing about you!

Today was absolutely amazing! I almost don't know where to begin!
Okay... Well like Brae and I have done in the past, we managed get our hands on some flowers! So what we did was take 39 flowers and made them into 39 tiny flower arrangements. We also had 5 flowers that we planted into 5 different pots! We delivered all these flowers to the major hospital near us.  We gave the 5 pots to the different desks at every ward. A really cool thing that happened was when one of the nurses said she saw us in the paper the day before. So she knew EXACTLY what we were doing! She was so happy to see us! All the nurses were! They really thought this was a sweet idea! Some of them even mentioned rooms they felt would enjoy getting a flower! As we walked down the hallways we made sure to stop and drop off a flower to any of patients we felt needed them! Most patients were sleeping or had visitors so we had a quite a few left! But the ones we did hand out really enjoyed these flowers! They smiled and said thank you! We decided though that we would take the extra flowers over to an old folks care home, the same one my grandpa lived in before he past away.  This is where we really saw the impact of what we were doing! Elderly people are so cute and sooo thankful! They don't get many visitors. So when we walked in they were Ecstatic! By the time we got there, everyone was eating but the nurses said it was fine! So went to each table one by one! And gave every person a flower. As we gave each lady a flower we told them how special they are! and to have a great day! Each lady LIT up like a little kid on christmas! Their reactions were priceless! I'll never forget those  HUGE smiles! They were just so cute! <3 The sad part was we were 7 flowers short! Brae and I felt SO BAD! but we told them we would come back again with more! And thats exactly what we plan to do! AH god is so good! I really hope he continues to remind how these lady's and patients how special they really are to him! and to Never Lose Hope!

Special Thanks goes out to Floral Inspirations! Thanks for all your help!

An encouraging call

So it's been WEEKS since Brae and I did any Tesh and Brae day stuff! But its never too late to start up again! On Wednesday we decided to make some phone calls! We grabbed the phonebook and picked 10 random numbers! We called them up and told them how special and important they are! And how we just wanted to encourage them!  A lot of the people liked it and said thank you! But one family didn't speak english so that one was a challenge. Out of the 10 numbers we called about half weren't home. (hahaha of course those were all the numbers I called). For those who didn't answer we ended up leaving voicemails!

Let us tell you a little Story ;)

So its been weeks since we have done a Tesh and Brae day! We apologize! Sometimes life just gets a little hectic! But we finally got around to doing one this week.
This week Brae and I decided to bless our school librarian. We don't know her personally. But our youth leader knows her quite well and told us that she could use some blessing! After hearing this Brae and I jumped on the chance to bless her! We weren't gunna let an opportunity like this pass by. We immediately started thinking of ideas! What would a Librarian like? After thinking for a while, Encouragement notes came to mind! We found a lot of cute verses and sayings and ended up making 10 little encouragement notes! Along with these notes we also bought some starbursts (cuz who doesn't like candy?)
We decided to give these notes out to 9 random people in the halls. Some we know quite well and some we didn't! Everyone was so willing to help us out! It was Awesome!
We told all of these 9 people to take their note and give it to the librarian sometime through out period 3. And thats exactly what they did! Throughout the whole hour she received these notes. One after another. And with every note she got she became more and more confused. Who was doing this? and Why? She kept asking them questions and none of them answered completely. At the very end of the period when we knew they were all done. Us ourselves went to go give the librarian her last and final note along with her starbursts! We told her this was her last note! And that it was us two behind the whole thing! We told her we wanted her to feel special and we just wanted to do something to brighten up her day! She thanked us numerous times! And was Over Joyed! I hope these notes will continue to bless her! When she's sad or confused or when life just sucks, she can look at these notes and realize people care about her and things will get better!

40 Flowers 40 Moms

I don't know about you, but my mom rocks! She has been the most supportive woman ever! Tesh's mom has also been a blessing to both of us. (I even call her mom as well). Not only is she a fantastic mom but just a wonderful woman in general. This week's Tesh and Brae day wouldn't have been able to happen with out her help! Since she is a florist, she let us use her extra flowers. AND she helped get them ready as well! Man, she has such a beautiful heart! :) We also had our friend, Marcail, helping us! It was defiantly nice to have those extra hands with all our flowers! Marcail told us that she can now see why we would want to do this every week! Ahhhh!
Wow, we had some sweet reactions! Some were good and some not. Out of the 45 we offered flowers to, only 5 said no. Of course this was disappointing for us but most of them said that it was because they lived out of town and didn't want the flower to die. As we were walking around some ladies would stop us asking what we were doing or "are you actually doing that?" They were so pumped that we thought of them when handing out flowers and that they were free. One lady called us down from the other end of the hall because she wanted a flower and her friend wanted to give one to her client! There were times when we would hand one out to a lady and suddenly there was a line of ladies waiting for a flower! One of our favourite reactions was this one lady who asked if she could have a second one to go bless someone else. As we were walking away, she followed us and told us how she was just thinking of going out and buying someone a flower. She told us how she hadn't seen this lady in a long time and suddenly she found her! She said we were like the 3 wise men that just showed up! Haha!
All these moms are so amazing! They were worth all of the time these flowers took! I just encourage you to do something really special for your mom tomorrow! The amount that she deserves it is crazy! And... To any moms reading this, THANK YOU! You rock! God bless!

Roses! ♥

Hello everyone! It's time for another Tesh and Brae Day update! :)
Yesterday we had the most beautiful weather ever! The sun was out and so were many people. (including us) after spending most of the afternoon cleaning up garbage from the ditches... we quickly headed home to finish our project. All week we had been working on a scavenger hunt for our friend Steve. Steve has put so much time, effort and money into Tesh and Brae Day that we wanted to bless him back. He drove all around town looking for clues! We he was on his journey, we were waiting for him at a restaurant near by to buy him supper! It was really sweet for us to be able to pay him back for what he has done for us. Even though he didn't expect it, we are pretty sure he appreciated it anyways! :)

After supper, we all headed over to Tesh's house. For an hour, we cut roses and made them look all pretty so we could hand them out. It was kind of a last minute thing so we didn't have lots of people on our mind for who we should give them to. After some thought, we decided on 14 people we should give them to! Everyone had amazing reactions plus we got a lot of hugs! One lady was just sweeping her garage and we happened to drive past her. we stopped to give her a rose. at first she was a little scared of Steve's orange crv slowly driving past her house but then when she got the flower, she was so excited! Another lady we went to visit was going through a really rough time. Tesh and I didn't really know her but we went there anyways. when we got to the door, she opened it and was immediately shocked that two random girls would bring her a flower. she kept repeating "You will be so blessed for this. You will be rewarded greatly!" Most people just took the flower and closed the door but she stood and talked to us for almost 10 minutes. While we were there to bless her, she was such a blessing to us.
After a long day of smiling and blessing people, it was defiantly so good to crash. I know I am soo thankful that God is using us in this way! woo! God bless! <3

Hope

"God is using us in amazing ways!" That was the first thing Tesh said to me after Tesh and Brae day yesterday. Not that we don't know that God is using us but yesterday was such a sweet reminder.
On Wednesday, our small group headed out to the city for the evening. The plan was to make a build-a-bear but we had no idea who it was going to be for. After much thinking and praying, a beautiful, young girl came to mind. This girl is quite sick and has barely been in school and has lost a lot of friends because of all of this. Tesh and I both agreed that she would be the perfect person to bless. As we were on our way to build-a-bear, we picked out the name Hope for our bear. We thought it was a cute way to give someone hope.
Thursday, when we brought it to her (like most Tesh and Brae Day's) we stopped to pray first. It's always comforting knowing God is with us as we go out to bless people. When we went in, her mom lead us to where she sitting. She was so shocked! AHHHH! Man, i'm so pumped! We stood around for a bit and then we took her out for coffee, then we went and watched a movie. It was defiantly emotional! God is so so good

Desert Please?

Sooooo Brae and I... decided to go on a little date night with one of our friends haha ;) we went to Boston Pizza for supper. After we were done we made a note.. and asked our lovely waitress to give that note and a panooki (sorry don't know how to spell that, Anywho its a giant cookie with ice cream on top!) To any table she thought might like one! so she did! she ended up giving it to a little girl and her mom! They were so stoked! Their smiles literally lit up the room!! They were such sweet hearts! I'm so glad we  got to do something nice for them!

Encouraging notes on windshields?? Oh ya that happend!

SO this week. Brae and I used are lovely writing skills to write 16 encouraging notes. We had no clue who these were going to go to. But we just wrote down anything that came into our minds. Like "You are beautiful and loved deeply" or "don't worry you got this okay?" We even made a couple funny ones! haha that was brae's idea ;) We tried to make these notes look good by using colourful pens and of corse drew some pictures to go with it! After these notes were finished we took them to school. We decided to split up into two groups. So we took some friends with us and went into two of the school's parking lots. We stuck these notes on any random cars that we though could use some encouragement! We made sure to put the girly ones on girls cars tho Haha! :) This was a real fun one to do! And we loved seeing two of the girls post about it! We are so glad we got to bless you guys!

Tims and Windows!

Second post today! we're on a rooooll! kinda like roll up the rim. Which reminds me of one of our last Tesh and Brae Day... days! Tanisha took her wonderful note writing skills and wrote 5 beautiful notes. Sometimes people need to know how amazing they are, and that is exactly what we told them! We took these notes put them in a bright envelope along with a gift card to Tim's and licked it shut. through out the day, Tanisha and I were on an intense look out for anyone needing some blessing. We came up with 5 people who either looked sad or their names just came to our minds. We creeped them until we found their locker and taped it on the outside or the inside. One guy came to our mind a while ago so he was our inspiration for this blessing. He received his blessing hand delivered by the one and only... Tesh. :) The thing that made this really sweet was that we didn't know that some of the people we were giving them to, were having a bad day. We only found that out after! Hopefully Roll up the Rim will be nice to them and bless them even further!

Another thing that we did, was write words of encouragement all over the bathroom mirrors. This time, Tesh had class. (it's okay to cry. we all do when it comes to school) I had grabbed a few other willing people to help me out. We took some Window Writers and started writing things like, 'Don't worry! You're beautiful!' or 'Hey you! You look amazing today!' This is one thing that you can't actually be sure if people are blessed by it unless they let you know. I know, i would at least smile if i saw that in the bathroom. At least three other girls smiled with us! Instagram and Facebook are pretty sweet for that! Pictures were posted and girls were thrilled that we would do that. I don't know about you, but i think that is really sweet.

Blessing each other is such an encouragement as well! One saturday, after work, Tesh came and brought me some flowers that she put together! man! so pumped! I love that girl!

xoxo, Tesh and Brae <3

Good evening, friends! Tis been a long time since we've posted. Don't worry, we haven't forgotten. Well, maybe just a little. ;)

Tesh and I wanted to spread our "organization" around at school and at public, so we made some dang good looking shirts. We now wear these every Tesh and Brae Day. Don't be too jealous. You can get it all at Wal-Mart!

New Realizations

Hello darlings. This week and Tesh and I decided to bless six people. Wow! We started off by simply going out for dinner and giving our beautiful waitress a gift card along with a tip. What can we say... she deserved it! She was a cutie! ;) Then we headed over to the hottest place in town, Jonny's Java, to surprise one of the baristas with a $40 manicure. (this was not a hint that her nails were bad. haha) She had probably the sweetest reaction ever. Man, she's wonderful! Two people done, four to go! At Jonny's we bought some hot chocolates, 'cause you know... it's chilly outside. We brought those delicious hot chocolates to some very chilled people at the gas stations. This is where we began to realize somethings...
The whole point of blessing people was really just for fun. We wanted to show God's love but mostly, it was just because we love to love on people. When we were bringing hot chocolate to one of the guys at the gas station, we ended up knowing him. When we gave it to him, he right away asked, "Who made you do this? Do I have to pay you?" He was very skeptical to accept our gift. We tried to explain to him that this was a gift of love and we were just trying to keep him warm during his shift. We got into the car shortly after and immediately started praying. God really showed us that He is using us to show his love. Even though we are just doing little things once a week, people are being affected by it greatly. The crazy thing was, I really didn't want to go to this gas station but Tesh continually said that we should/needed to. It was as if God placed this guy in our way for us to show us His love.

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.
- John 13:34-35
